Sometimes I feel like we both knew
we are not here for much longer.
Not soon.
Just not forever.
The air stilled.
And we quietly accepted the role of witness.
Watching a life slowly say goodbye to itself.
And there was something beautiful in that.
It could be ten years.
It could be twenty.
Perhaps more.
But who we were?
They are already becoming memories.
